Phase 2: Train & Equip

Our church planting process is designed to be comprehensive. We believe certain core beliefs, characteristics, and competencies are essential for effective church planting. These include matters of the head (theology and worldview), heart (character, maturity, and faithfulness) and hands (gifts, experience, and fruitfulness). We are committed to the holistic formation of the church planter in the following environments:

Step 1: Essentials in Church Planting Workshop*
This two-day workshop provides basic training in how to discern and respond to God's call to plant a church. It is designed for anyone interested in church planting, including lay leaders, seminarians, church staff, ordination and reception candidates, and ordained clergy. Get more information about our next Essentials in Church Planting Workshop.

Step 2: Anglican School of Church Planting
This 8-day intensive training and teaching period is designed to give church planters, church planter teams, staff, and leadership an overview of the six characteristics of a functioning Anglican Church: Worship, Discipleship, External Focus, Communication, Administration, and Pastoral Care. The format includes a variety of instruction, lively discussion, active engagement, spiritual refreshment, and teaching of ‘best practices' by experienced church leaders. Get more information about our next Anglican School of Church Planting.

Step 3: Church Planter Residency
We are committed to mentor the next generation of church planters (and their spouses) in the context or the local church. We believe this relational environment is vital to the formation and maturation of the church planter. The Residency gives the emerging church planter hands-on exposure to best-practices and provides the opportunity for them to initiate, lead, grow, and multiply ministry with regular feedback and coaching from experienced leaders. *We recommend attending the Essentials in Church Planting Workshop before the Anglican School of Church Planting, but it is not required.
